Keystone XL: Permitting Process Background and Procedures for Public Meetings

Keystone XL is a dangerous pipeline project that would transport dirty, toxic tar sands fuel from Alberta, Canada through the Midwestern United States and deliver the crude oil to refineries along the Texas Gulf Coast. The high risk pipeline would cross nearly 2,000 rivers throughout the United States, and go through aquifers which provides drinking and irrigation water to countless Americans.

Safety Concerns Regarding Steel Used in TransCanada Keystone Pipeline System

The existing Keystone pipeline (Keystone 1) was built with steel sourced from Welspun Power and Steel Limited. Welspun has sourced steel slabs from Chinese companies that have been found to produce substandard steel.
