“Another day, another effort to ride on the coat tails of “Avatar.” But unlike most of the groups that have projected their issues on the movie – feminists who feel the male avatars are more buff than their female counterparts, antismoking advocates, conservatives who bristle at its depiction of religion – the latest bunch is squarely in support of the movie.”

“Who knows whether Mr. Cameron had any tar pit exposé intentions, but he has declared that “Avatar” is an environmental parable. In December he said he saw the movie “as a broader metaphor, not so intensely politicized as some would make it, but rather that’s how we treat the natural world as well.””
