Greenpeace comment on Total Upgrader approval

“It’s heartbreaking. This community already faces rising health effects from industrial development. They are seeing more cancer in their community and yet the government just keeps piling the damage on. Total’s project will compound the devastation and will force more people to leave their land. The ERCB’s 100 per cent approval rating for tar sands projects continues. There is no balance in Alberta, just a Premier who refuses to say no to multinational oil giants, regardless of the cost to people or the environment.”
